Contents of DeQuincy Railroad Museum
The following railroad-related records, forms, magazines, books and other general information in the archives of theDeQuincyRailroadMuseum, located on the second floor of the building, are available to the public for research and review by appointment only on Tuesday through Friday of each week:
LABOR – three (3) containers of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, United Transportation Union, Order of Railway Conductors and Brakemen, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, DeQuincy (MP) Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers records from 1930s to 1960s, and miscellaneous items
RAILROAD LEGAL – National Railroad Adjustment Board Volumes 13-20, 31, 34, 52, 60, 73, 74,80,85, 90-99, 100-109, 110-112, 114-119, 120-129, 130-139, and miscellaneous items
RAILROAD MANAGEMENT/PRACTICES/EDUCATION – small collection of books from various periods
OFFICIAL GUIDE – 7/1945, 11/1956, various volumes 1967 - 2005
EQUIPMENT REGISTER – various volumes 1970 -1976
MISCELLANEOUS RAILROAD BOOKS – a modest, wide time frame collection of general United States and world railroading topics
EASTERN RAILROADS BOOKS – a small collection of older books
MIDWEST RAILROADS BOOKS – a small collection of older books
SOUTHERN RAILROADS BOOKS – a small collection of older books
WESTERN RAILROAD BOOKS – a small collection of older books
RULES AND REGULATIONS – a wide time frame collection of books and pocket manuals for general railroad rules, regulations, and procedures
TIME BOOKS – representative examples of railroad workers personal time books
SAFETY – various placards, manuals, and plans for safe practices
EXAMINATION BOOKS – pocket manuals for various crafts
CONDUCTOR/TRAINMEN RECORDS BOOKS – examples of actual books used by railroad workers
OPERATION/MAINTENANCE MANUALS – covers a wide range including steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, freight equipment, passenger equipment, track, etc.
DRAWINGS/DIAGRAMS – several diesel locomotive diagrams
MISSOURI PACIFIC RECORDS – includes manuals of rules, operation and maintenance, orders, forms, pamphlets, seniority lists for DeQuincy, DeQuincy-specific records, steam locomotive diagram book, etc.
KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN – includes manuals of rules, operation and maintenance, orders, forms, pamphlets, DeQuincy-specific records, etc.
UNION PACIFIC – includes manuals of rules, operation and maintenance, DeQuincy specific records, etc.
SOUTHERN PACIFIC – includes manual of rules, operation and maintenance, maintenance procedures for specific equipment, etc. Also included are the following books produced by SP for the company:
Southern Pacific/Cotton Belt – A Moment in Time (1986); Southern Pacific Lines Relief Outfits – 1994 (covers various states); and Southern Pacific Folio of Business Cars – 1992.
HOUSTON BELT & TERMINAL – Houston-specific records, locomotive inspection reports
MISCELLANEOUS – one (1) container of miscellaneous railroads’ records, forms, information, etc., and railroad fact books.
CITY OF DEQUINCY – collection of pictures, picture albums and various memorabilia of non-railroad topics of importance to the city (i.e., Kelly Hall, the Orleaneans baseball team, etc.)

The following railroad-related items in the archives of the DeQuincy Railroad Museum are available to the public Tuesday through Saturday in the Museum’s Reading Library, located in the Gift Shop on the first floor of the building, without appointment. These items are not for sale or circulation:
BOOKS – selected topics including KCS, MP, SP, model railroading, general United States and world railroads
PICTURE ALBUMS - railroad-related pictures gathered from various sources, including the Museum’s archives, as well as pictures and articles on the development and use of the Museum over the years
Contents of the Archives were increased and diversified with two signicant donations to the Museum, and will continue with additional future donations.
